How to Make Potato Wedges
Here's a simple recipe for crispy and delicious potato wedges: Ingredients- 4 medium-sized potatoes (russet or any starchy variety works best)
- 2–3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional for a smoky flavor)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or thyme
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: ½ teaspoon chili flakes for some heat
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions1. Prep the Potatoes- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly (you can keep the skin on for extra crispiness).
- Cut each potato into wedges: First, halve the potato lengthwise, then cut each half into 3–4 wedges depending on thickness preference.
2. Soak for Crispiness- Soak the wedges in a bowl of cold water for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps achieve a crispier texture when baked or fried.
- Drain and pat them dry with a clean towel.
3. Season the Wedges- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Ensure the wedges are evenly coated.
4. Bake or Air Fry- Arrange the wedges in a single layer on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Place the wedges in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches).
- Air fry at 190°C (375°F) for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
5. Serve - Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley on top for a fresh touch.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup, garlic mayo, or sour cream.
