Here's a delightful pudding image for you! Let me know if you'd like to tweak anything or need another one. 😊
Here’s a simple recipe for homemade pudding (vanilla or chocolate)! Do you prefer vanilla, chocolate, or a different flavor? Let me know if you'd like an alternative!
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk (whole milk works best)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch (or ¼ cup flour for thicker pudding)
- Pinch of salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (for vanilla pudding)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (optional for chocolate pudding)
- 1 tablespoon butter (for creaminess, optional)
Instructions
1. Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cocoa powder (if making chocolate).
2. Add Milk Gradually:
- Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
3. Cook Over Medium Heat:
- Place the saucepan on medium heat. Continue whisking gently but constantly as the mixture heats up.
- It will gradually thicken after about 5-7 minutes.
4. Remove & Add Vanilla:
- Once the pudding is thick enough to coat a spoon, remove it from the heat.
- Stir in the vanilla extract (and butter, if using) for extra creaminess.
5. Cool & Serve:
- Pour the pudding into serving cups or bowls.
- Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours.
Optional Toppings:
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate shavings
- Fresh fruit
- Caramel or chocolate sauce
Enjoy your delicious pudding! Do you want a flavor variation or tips on adjusting the sweetness? 😊
